There are hundreds of icebergs that split off Antarctic ice shelves is drifting toward New Zealand and could pose a risk to ships in the south Pacific Ocean.

 

The Star :

The nearest one, measuring about 30 yards (meters) tall, was 160 miles (260 kilometers) southeast of New Zealand's Stewart Island, Australian glaciologist (冰河学家) Neal Young said. He couldn't say how many icebergs in total were roaming(移动) the Pacific, but he counted 130 in one satellite image alone and 100 in another.
 

Icebergs are routinely sloughed off as part of the natural development of ice shelves, but Young said the rate appeared to be increasing as a result of regional warming in Antarctica.

"Whole ice shelves have broken up," he said, as temperatures have risen in Antarctica, where they are up as much as 5 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius) in the past 60 years.

But he cautioned against linking the appearance of the bergs in New Zealand waters to global warming: The phenomenon depends as much on weather patterns and ocean currents as on the rate at which icebergs are calving(裂冰) off Antarctic ice shelves.

What is Icebergs?

Icebergs are formed as the ice shelf develops. Snow falls on the ice sheet and forms more ice, which flows to the edges of the floating ice shelves. 

Eventually, pieces around the edge break off.

Friday was the Last day i studying at 4 Jupiter..aiks..

cos i had decided to choose LK as my subject 'elektif' ..

Well..as what Jiatian had said i more suitable to choose Sains Sukan..because of i'm athlete?LOLX..

Honestly, i don't want to be a coach or 'tiao yang shi' as my future job..

besides, i have my own reasons to make this decision..~

Yesterday ,I went to Parkson (new shopping centre in Square One) with daddy ...we're so "Shiok" there cos most of the things there are

10% , 20%, 50% and 70% DISCOUNT!wOWWWW!!

( but this 'Ho kang' just for 3days lah..)

and of course , we bought a lot of things there..hahaHA...

The things I bought :

• liquids (3 for 12.90)
• a Very Cute notebook with the title : [ Very Cow Secondary School ] cost rm10.90
• a Cute Bottle (rm13.90=.=...expensive sial~but i like it very much~haha)

Somethings i Like..

Oohh... i so hope that i could buy all this cups as my collection..haha~

Today i wake up at 8.30am because ChinYee is coming to my house and we're going to Convent Canteen Day together~

Before that, we go to Smk Convent which also our primary school.Most of the things and surrounding there still remains the same^^...

especially the Malaysia Map which Felicia,Teo suak ling, Kelly tee and me ( kepo der..) drew at 2005..So touchie~

I only coloured the purple part (Kalimantan)..the most memorable part for me~haha

'kaki lima' that I always running here and there ..

wic also the 2nd clas in Convent ...that time i kept trying my best to get into Harapan(1st class)but my results was not good enough...haiz..
